This case will be of great interest to financiers as it provides an almost textbook example of how a credit provider within the meaning of Australian Consumer Credit Legislation should deal with departures from compliance with that legislation once they become known. In this case, Esanda Finance Corporation Ltd was faced with the consequences of serious contraventions of the Consumer Credit (Queensland) Code.
